Youtube and Other Sites has been Blocked by Government?

Sehubungan dengan Surat Menteri Kominfo Nomor: 84/M.KOMINFO/04/08 tanggal 2 April 2008 Perihal: Pemblokiran Situs dan Blog Yang Memuat Film Fitna, maka situs berikut ini untuk sementara kami tutup sampai pemberitahuan lebih lanjut :

1. Youtube
2. MySpace
3. Metacafe
4. Multiply
5. Rapid-share

Demikian informasi yang dapat kami sampaikan, atas maklumnya kami mengucapkan terima kasih.

What the hell is our government doing… :x Only because 1 film called ‘Fitna’, they blocked lots of good sites? Non-sense! Enggak sekalian blockir seluruh jaringan internet ajah tuh?

NOTE :

Even if they’ve blocked it, I can still browse to that sites using proxy sites… Wokwokwokwok… :lol:

    Hey Detik,

    we started up the website sorryforthefilm.com a couple of weeks ago where Dutch people can distantiate themselves from Fitna by uploading a photograph. Now somebody uploaded this:

    It seems to be about blocking sites or something awful like that, could you perhaps give us a hint?

    Yes, that is a FORMAL LETTER from Minister of Communication and Informations of Republic of Indonesia to ALL ISPs (Internet Service Providers) and ALL NAPs (Network Access Providers) in Indonesia (it’s about 156 ISPs and 40 NAPs) and also to Chief of the Indonesia Polices.

    That letter said that ALL BLOGS AND SITES which contains or uploaded the ‘Fitna’ film MUST BE BLOCKED from all Indonesia internet connections.

    Some of the sites which’s suspected have or uploaded the ‘Fitna’ film is :

    1. Youtube
    2. MySpace
    3. Metacafe
    4. Multiply
    5. Rapid-share
    etc.

    It’s confused me too, because I like Youtube :( , but they gonna (and now has been) blocked it from Indonesia internet connections, just because there’s one film called ‘Fitna’ in that sites… And I’m afraid there’ll be lots more good sites which maybe will blocked from here soon because of that film… :x

    Geez, I wish that film was never made… :(

    huhu pantesan tadi malem emang nyobain youtube beberapa kali gagal nggak taunya dah mulai ditutup toh yah,
    begonya diriku nggak pake proxy
    bis kirain gi error ato knapa gitu

    Wah kalo pemerintah sampe blokir blog ini, berarti pemerintah emang kurang kerjaan… Tuh nyuruh semua ISPs blokir Youtube ajah udah aneh kok. Analogi na ini :

    Gara-gara digigit 1 semut (film Fitna), pemerintah membakar satu pohon tempat semut tersebut tinggal (Youtube). Enggak cuman itu, mereka juga membakar pohon-pohon laen yg diduga ada semutnya (Multiply, Metacafe, Rapidshare, etc). Padahal kan yg tinggal dipohon tsb gak hanya semut ajah, tp ada burung, kadal, serangga, etc.

    Di Youtube itu ada jutaan videos menarik dan bermanfaat, masak ditutup gara-gara 1 video jelek ajah sih? :x

    Padahal aku biasanya dapet video-video menarik dari Youtube, semisal tentang quadrupal robots (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W1czBcnX1Ww redirect to here using proxy sites) dan video-video keren lain. Sekarang jadi susah… :(

    hehehe kasus pemblokiran kayak gini emang udah sering sih …. kayak pertarungan apakah internet itu globally tanpa baas negara atau locallly dibatasi hukum pemerintah setempat (dlm hal ini pemerntah indonesia). Masih debatable (setahu sy). Perlu diinget juga…internet tuh ngak sepenuhnya anarkis bebas hukum dan keteraturan, ada kok tangan2 kasat mata yg mengaturnya, yaitu…alah lupa…tapi kayak pandi di indonesia yg ngatur domain2 lokal… di level dunia jg ada lembaga pengatur kayak gini. ini bukti bahwa internet jg diatur hukum setempat. i think! it’s not an anarchy is the best policy…bla..bla..bla

    FYI nih dari newbie. kmaren gw uda bs tu buka youtube. tapi ga coba yang lain si. uda bisa di akses n fine2 aja kok. gw malahan uda sempet download video pembantaian mahasiswa yang kasus 98 itu tuh…seru cing

    ini seperti membunuh satu tikus di suatu rumah dengan membakar rumah tersebut. Pantaskah? I don’t think so. Just because of one person, we have to lose our right in using those facilities. The government has grabbed our creativity because we use internet not for crime (mostly), here we’re learning. it’s not fair.

    I don’t agree with this government’s movements. And thanks god sekarang pemblokiran situs-situsna sudah dicabut dan sudah bisa diakses normal kembali. Mudahan besok pemerintah tidak gegabah lagi mengeluarkan statements yang berkaitan dengan IT dan internet…
